Abdul Rahman is out of prison. The court, which previously stated that they would act independently was pressured by the prosecution to release him from the maximum security prison near Kabul.
Abdul Rahman's family was present for the release, but it is not known where he was taken. He has requested asylum outide of Afghanistan, a task that the UN has taken up. Italy's Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini is said to be requesting his government to Accept Abdul Rahman.
