Trackbacking on Flickr

So, I’m delving into the world of Flickr now. As I have perused around the site, I have noticed this occasional signature that says something along the lines of “Seen on such-and-so’s favorites” with a link to that user’s fave page. I finally got curious enough to click the hyperlinked question mark to see what this was all about.

Turns out there is a Greasemonkey script that takes care of leaving a trackback of where you came from if you comment in a photo posted on Flickr.

  1. Get Firefox
  2. Install GreaseMonkey
  3. restart Firefox
  4. Install the script

When you go to a photo on Flickr, the script will automatically post into the comment section, with space at the top for you to leave your comment. It’s a pretty nifty feature that I highly recomend! It let’s you and others know where your pics are being noticed at (I for one, love those kind of stats).
