Here in Cody, we have a huge Fourth of July event called the Cody Stampede. It aqctually runs July 1-4, complete with rodeos, entertainment, and parades. Our state politicians love coming to march in the parade. One of those constants was Sen. Craig Thomas and his wife. Of course, them being from Cody probably was a huge factor in always being in the parade.
Just after being reelected last November, he was diagnosed leukemia. He vowed to stay in until he could serve no longer.
Last night, he breathed his last breath in Maryland. He always had a smile on his face. He wasn’t in the limelight that much (though he did inherit the Senate’s candy desk at the start of this term). He supported the troops and supported life. Best of all, he supported Wyoming.
With condolences to the family of Sen. Craig Thomas (R-WY). We’ll miss you, Mr. Senator.
