Journalism Hits a New Low

Set aside all the implications of attempting to land a helicopter on top of a mountain in a wilderness area, but there are just some things that can be worded a little differently when it hits the presses:

A helicopter that crashed Tuesday in the Washakie Wilderness area west of Cody, Wyo., was apparently trying to land on an 11,900-foot mountain plateau so the four people aboard the high-end machine could stretch their legs and take a potty break.

Thankfully everyone survived, but I really feel sorry for Wendy Corr over at KODI for having to report this as well (yup, she said “potty break” on live news radio). I don’t think I could have survived reading the report as such.

Funny, I thought the same thing when I read this the other day. Sheesh.
