Throat relief

So, you caught the flu (or some other awful-feeling-causing sickness) and now you have this scratchy throat/irritating cough? Try this out:

  • 2 Cups water
  • 2 Tbs. grated ginger root
  • 2 Tbs. grated orange peel
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice (fresh)
  • 2 Tbs. honey

Boil water, ginger root, orange peel, and lemon juice (five minutes seems to work good). Strain ginger root and orange peel out of the mix and stir in the honey. Drink as hot as you can stand it. Please note: there is a bit of a “kick” to this (due to the ginger) so brace yourself! In addition to smelling good (and IMHO, it tastes good too!), it works great!
