Same-day Voter Registration

Here in WY (and over in Neighboring ID, I understand) we have a cool election process. You have so many days before an election that you can register to vote. But if you were unable to register in that time frame, you can do so at the poll on the day of the election (especially effective if you and enough other voters want to try to sway the “other party’s” winner that goes on to the November election). 

So I ran a Google news search on Wyoming state elections to see what was going on and an article shows up from the  Boston Globe. It appears that Boston leaders like the same day registration process (much better than a proposal to allow a couple extra days afterward for voting; that’s what absentee ballots are for). An interesting two-page read.

For what it’s worth, I am already registered to vote (WY Primary is August 22!!!!) I am still undecided if I want to vote for Ray Hunkins (R for Gov), whom I support and will probably more-than-likely get the Republican approval this go-around, or Al Hamburg (D for Gov), who has run for just about every office in every third-party but can’t serve
