Christmas is just around the corner. What traditions surrounding Christmastime do you and/or your family have?
Mine have changed over the years, particularly since we moved up to Cody. Typically, we do presents on Christmas Eve (after watching a Christmas pageant done by a Baptist church in Florida) and stockings on Christmas morning. Sometimes Dad makes cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast (that or Mom does a recipe with frozen dinner rolls and a pecan/caramel glaze). Egg nog (Meadow Gold) is always present from Thanksgiving on. This year, we are adding to the Christmas menu Paula Deen’s egg nog (sans bourbon).
Another thing that we have added to the tradition list in the past couple of years is seeing the Cody Christmas Parade of Lights (pictures of this year’s event forthcoming!). It is Wyoming’s largest such parade (yes there is competition, at least in Powell).
