I Believe in Global Warming

That’s right. I believe in global warming. I also believe that there is nothing, I reapeat and emphasize emphatically, absolutely nothing in any way, shape, matter, or form that you and I, or the government for that matter, can do to stop it.

Now I know that this sounds strange coming from a location where there is still snow on the ground and the highs are only in the 20’s (which is a huge jump from last week’s single digit highs and double digit negative lows), but this is something that I firmly believe in, and no, Al Gore is not my best friend.

So, now that I have everyone scratching their heads at my newly announced belief, let me provide the support for my belief:

  • But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conduct and godliness, Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (2 Peter 3:10-12)

There are at least 1,007 years (seven years of tribulation followed by 1,000 when Satan is bound and Christ reigns on Earth) before this event takes place, so don’t look for it right away (at the same time, don’t scoff the warning)

  • And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and encircled the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and hades delivered up the dead who were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:9-15)

Now, after the heavens and earth are destroyed, there is great news! They get restored into their perfect condition! What is really impressive is the New Heaven (God’s home) which descends to the New Earth (our home) is HUGE! 1500 miles cubed (length*width*height)! One level of the New Heaven can hold the current population of the USA with room to spare! Have you made your reservation.

  1. […] Steve in Peru, Indiana is spot-on. The only thing I would add to his comment is that not only will the world be destroyed in God’s time, but He will restore it to it’s perfect original condition too. […]
